The 2016 ICMEMO Conference was part of the ICOM Milan Triennial Assembly in July. Over 100 participants and speakers from six continents joined ICMEMO sessions. They came from Chile, Kazakhstan, Cambodia, Mexico, Japan, China, Argentina, Ukraine, Ecuador, Russia.

Sessions were held in partnership with the University of Exeter, the Institut des Sciences Sociales du politique, ICOMAM, EUROM, INSML and included topics such as Post-Soviet and South American Dictatorships and Dark Tourism; with trips to Modena, Carpi, Fossoli and Turin.
